The founding members of Rhoads & Rhoads, Jerry and Tom Rhoads, were born and raised in Henderson. From his humble beginnings on a small farm in rural Niagra, Jerry and Tom’s father, Lee Allen Rhoads, worked his way through college at Murray State and law school in Louisville and returned to his home county in 1939, where he developed a successful law practice for more than 35 years. Lee Allen Rhoads was very active in his community and served with distinction as State Representative, Henderson City Attorney, and Henderson County Attorney.
Jerry and Tom’s mother, Lucy Rhoads, was a talented musician and taught piano and organ lessons to Henderson County students for many years.
Jerry and Tom’s parents were active in their church, Immanuel Baptist Temple, where his dad taught a couples’ Sunday School class for 35 years and his mother was the church organist for 30 years. Immanuel Baptist Temple, led by its pastor, Rev. Lyman Smith Allen, was an important influence in the development of Christian values of Jerry and his family. Jerry’s decision to pursue a legal career was strongly influenced by his father, who devoted his successful law practice to helping families and making life better for his clients. It was his father’s example and the strong Christian values of his parents and the influence of his church and community that led Jerry to pursue a legal career – and he has brought these same values into the law practice at Rhoads & Rhoads. Chief among these values is a strong work ethic, which we use to tirelessly serve our clients.
All of the attorneys at Rhoads & Rhoads, P.S.C. represent their clients as if they were members of their own family – and we are grateful that this has resulted in so many client referrals over the years. With the association of Jerry’s brother, Tom, in 1976, Rhoads & Rhoads, P.S.C. was established in Hopkins County. Over the years, Rhoads & Rhoads has developed a reputation throughout western Kentucky for being aggressive injury attorneys who obtain outstanding results for their injured and disabled clients.
Jerry and his law partner and son, Chris Rhoads, have been recognized statewide as outstanding plaintiffs’ personal injury attorneys and Jerry was elected by his peers as President of Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys (now Kentucky Justice Association), and Chris has been an elected KJA officer since 2002.
Rhoads & Rhoads has grown into a full service personal injury firm and is well equipped to represent the good folks of Henderson County who may have unfortunately suffered injuries and disabilities. If you come to Rhoads & Rhoads, you will be treated like family and we would welcome the opportunity to help our Henderson County friends.

Our roots go very deep in Henderson County. I grew up going over to Emmanuel Baptist Temple to see my grandmother play the organ, where she played for 42 years, and my grandfather taught a Sunday school class for 41 years at that church.
Henderson County always has been and always will be a very special place to Rhoads and Rhoads. Henderson County is where my father and uncle, Jerry and Tom Rhoads, grew up. My grandfather, Lee Allen Rhoads, started our law practice in Henderson County in 1939, the name of Rhoads and Baker, and he ran for legislature. He served on the state legislature. He was also the commonwealth attorney, the prosecutor down in Henderson County.
One of our law partners here, Kyle Lamar, grew up in Henderson. That’s home to him as well, and it’s just really a treat to be able to go over to Henderson, be in the court system, and represent people that you just feel such a close connection to.
