Experienced Personal Injury Lawyers Serving Butler County
“I just wanted to publicly express my appreciation for this firm and Chris Rhoads in particular. After Elijah’s accident we had so many questions and concerns. I was hesitant to think we needed an attorney but could not be more pleased and grateful for the services Chris provided. It was definitely the right way to go. He is a brilliant lawyer but moreover a wonderful person. All of the staff is so kind, supportive and they keep you well informed every step of the way. I hope none of you ever do, but if you ever need a personal injury attorney, I highly recommend Rhoads & Rhoads.”

Living in Butler County
Situated between the metropolitan areas of Bowling Green and Owensboro, Butler County is a wonderful representation of our great state of Kentucky. Nearly 13,000 residents are spread throughout the county. Many of them commute to work, yet they choose to live in Butler County thanks to great property values, good schools and friendly people.
The largest employers in Butler County are Morgantown Plastics and ARC Automotive. Industry is primed for future growth in the county thanks to available space in Morgantown’s industrial park and the convenience of Interstate 165. Future transportation upgrades include the proposed Interstate 67, which would expand the already existing US Highway 231 running through Butler County. This would make travel even more convenient for an area that is already located within a half day’s drive of 40 major U.S. cities and close to about 75% of the United States population.
The county seat is Morgantown, a city of approximately 2,400 residents. Host of the annual Green River Catfish Festival every July, Morgantown is also home to Butler County High School. The southwest corner of the county has dozens of large farms as well as homes for residents commuting to Bowling Green.
Driving in Butler County
In the past five years there have been nearly 300 accidents resulting in injury or death in Butler County. The most common cause of these accidents, mirroring state and national trends, are inattentive or distracted driving, speeding, failure to yield to other drivers and driving while intoxicated or otherwise under the influence. As one of Kentucky’s remaining dry counties, Butler County does see higher numbers of DUI/DWI instances per capita than most wet or moist counties.
Labor statistics indicate that approximately two-thirds of county residents commute outside of Butler County for their jobs, with the majority working in Bowling Green or Owensboro. This puts a lot of daily traffic on roads, especially Interstate 165, which has seen its share of accidents.

Count on Rhoads & Rhoads for Experienced Legal Representation
At Rhoads & Rhoads, another one of our specialty areas is premises liability, which covers a person or persons who suffer injury if a property owner -either an individual or business- has not maintained a safe environment for others who may be on the property. Think of slip or trip and fall accidents, dog bites, elevator or escalator accidents, improper property maintenance and more. This typically does not include rental property, as there is generally an assumption that renters control their rented space. However, if there are dangerous yet unknown conditions when renters take control of a property or repairs are not done in a non-negligent fashion, the property owner may have not met their duty of care.
An example of premises liability would be an injury sustained in a hotel slip and fall, something that happened to a Rhoads & Rhoads client. We were able to secure for our client $1.2 million in compensation for leg injuries suffered in the accident.
Rhoads & Rhoads Injury Lawyers also cover the following practice areas, among others:
- Wrongful Death
- Worker’s Compensation
- Social Security Disability
- Nursing Home Abuse
- Medical Malpractice
- Drug and Medicine Injuries
- Traumatic Brain Injuries
